[Social Security Financing Method]
In order to operate a social security system in a planned manner, a mechanism is needed to maintain the balance between benefits and costs. This is called a financial system, and there are two types: the pay-as-you-go system and the funded system. The pay-as-you-go system aims to cover the cost of benefits for the current year through taxes or insurance premiums for the current year, and is widely used in Western countries for short-term insurance such as medical insurance and unemployment insurance, as well as long-term insurance such as pension insurance.
