Ouchi version - Ouchiban

Japanese: 大内版 - おおうちばん
Ouchi version - Ouchiban
During the Muromachi period, this was a general term for books published within the domain of the Ouchi clan. The Ouchi clan had been devoted to literature for generations, and many nobles and monks from Kyoto who fled the dangers of the Onin War lived in the area around the castle entrance. Many Buddhist scriptures and Chinese books were imported through trade with Ming China and Korea, and these were actively reprinted and published.
