Ouchi [town] - Ouchi

Japanese: 大内[町] - おおうち

A former town in Yuri County in the southwest of Akita Prefecture. Established as a town in 1970. Adjacent to the former Honjo City, it has extensive forests. In addition to producing rice such as Sasanishiki, it also has factories that produce electronic materials. The main settlement is Iwaya on the western edge, through which the Uetsu Main Line passes. In March 2005, it merged with Honjo City and the towns of Yajima, Iwaki, Yuri, Nishime, Chokai, and Higashiyuri in Yuri County to form Yurihonjo City. Area: 181.71 ^km2 . Population: 9,788 (2003).

Ouchi [town] [Ochi]

A former town in Okawa County, eastern Kagawa Prefecture. The main settlement is Sanbonmatsu, where the Takatoku Line runs, and there are many glove factories. Pharmaceutical and machinery companies are also located here. There are Kinujima and Marugamejima (natural monuments). In April 2003, it merged with Hiketa Town and Shiratori Town to form Higashikagawa City. 34.42 ^km2 . Population 16,161 (2000).
