...However, for example, in the Germanic ancient law, the following two groups of acts were treated as exceptions: acts that threatened the existence of the national community and acts that were "expressions of dishonorable feelings." The perpetrators were punished with the deprivation of peace guaranteed by the community (Friedlosigkeit) and the form of total execution (called Acht, or persecution) in which all members of the community were obligated to kill. In addition, summary killing was permitted only in cases of flagrante delicto, under special procedures.
