Eleonore d'Aquitaine (English spelling)

…She was the wife of Louis VII of France and Henry II of England. She was also called Eléonore d'Aquitaine. Her grandfather was William IX, Duke of Aquitaine and Count of Poitiers, the oldest known troubadour. She was raised in a literary environment from her childhood, and through her marriages to both kings, she introduced the literary traditions of the south and the ideas of the cult of the lady to the courts of northern France and England.
