elemental diet

...A general term for medicines taken to make up for nutritional deficiencies and correct imbalances. In general, it refers to vitamins, amino acid preparations, mineral preparations, and tonics, but in a broader sense, it also includes elemental diets used in general infusions, high-calorie infusions, space food, and surgical nutrition. So-called nutritional drinks are taken to recover from fatigue, maintain health, increase physical strength, and become stronger. Reflecting the Japanese love of medicine, the consumption amount reaches several billion bottles per year, including those classified as soft drinks.
