Electrofax

...This is an indirect method that allows copying onto ordinary paper. On the other hand, the RCA method (product name Electrofax), which uses zinc oxide instead of amorphous selenium, was developed in 1954 by the American company RCA, and was put into practical use around 1961. This is a direct method in which zinc oxide fine powder is dispersed in a resin binder, and the colored fine powder is fixed directly onto the paper (insulating photoconductor layer) that has been coated with the resin binder.
