Deir Tasa (English spelling)

…An Egyptian predynastic culture. Its main ruins are Deir Tasa and Mustajidda (also called Mostageddha) on the east bank of the Nile in Middle Egypt. It was enthusiastically proposed by British archaeologist G. Brunton as the oldest Neolithic culture in Upper Egypt, preceding the Badari culture, but it is no longer considered an independent culture, and is generally considered to be an early stage of the Badari culture.
