…Males are significantly smaller than females, with overall length ranging from 1/3 to 1/20 of the female's, depending on the species. Males of the Biwa anglerfish and the Three-tailed Anglerfish, Cryptopsaras couesi , spend their entire lives attached to the female's abdomen, tail, or head with the front end of their head. This phenomenon of males parasitizing the female's body is unique among vertebrates.
