[Development History]
The history of the jackhammer dates back to the steam-powered rotary jackhammer invented by R. Trevithick of England in 1813. Later, in 1849, American J. J. Couch invented the steam-powered percussion jackhammer. In 1851, American J. W. Fowle invented a mechanism for rotating the jackhammer rod using a ratchet and a pole.
