...A arboreal porcupine with a long tail that can be wrapped around things. A general term for a mammal of the order Rodentia, family Hystridae (Hystridae), genus Coendou . About 20 species live in Central and South America from Mexico to Brazil, Peru, and Bolivia. Body length is 30-60 cm, tail length 33-45 cm. Body color varies widely, from yellowish brown to brown, and some are almost black. Like other porcupines, they have modified hair spines, but their hands are wide and equipped with strong claws, which are suitable for grasping tree branches, and they live in trees. ...
