Ancient Iranian art under the Achaemenid Empire. The magnificent ruins of Persepolis are a representative example. It consists of a large platform and a colonnade, and the walls are decorated with realistic and powerful stone reliefs of divine beasts and humans. In terms of crafts, there are excellent gold and silverware, and traditional animal designs are used as the theme. Major remains that remain today include the ruins of Pasargadae and Susa, the tomb of Cyrus II, the ruins of Naqsh-e-Rostam, and the victory monument of Darius I at Bishtun (Behistun).

アケメネス朝治下の古代イラン美術。代表的なものとして，壮大なペルセポリスの遺跡がある。大基壇と列柱からなり，壁面には神獣や人物などの写実的で力強い石の浮彫装飾がみられる。工芸では金銀器に優れた製品があり，主題には伝統的な動物意匠が用いられている。現存する主要な遺構として，パサルガダエ遺跡とスーサ遺跡，キュロス2世王墓，ナクシェ・ロスタム遺跡，ビーシトゥーン (ベヒストゥーン) のダレイオス1世の戦勝記念碑などがある。
