Boinae

...A general term for non-venomous snakes in the Boinae subfamily, a group closely related to the pythons (Boidae). Approximately 25 species are known from 8 genera, and most are found in North and South America, but two species of the Acrantophis genus and one species of the Sanzinia genus are found in Madagascar, and three species of the Pacific boa genus are found in New Guinea and the islands of the South Pacific.
