Bogazkale

...The excavation confirmed the existence of the Hittites, which had been almost completely forgotten. Since its discovery in 1834, it has often been called Bogazköy, but the village from which the site was named is now officially called Bogazkale. German H. Winkler excavated about 10,000 clay tablets in 1906-12, and B. Hrozný and others deciphered them, confirming that the Hittite language belongs to the Indo-European language family. Since then, Western scholars have been paying an extraordinary amount of attention to this site, searching for clues to unravel the most ancient history of their ancestors and to identify their homeland.
