Kuboizumi Maruyama Ruins - Kuboizumi Maruyama Ruins
Located in Kuboizumi, Saga City, this complex site consists of burial sites centered on dolmens from the late Jomon period to the early Yayoi period, and a group of ancient tombs from the 5th to 6th centuries. It is also called the Maruyama Site. It is located on a small hill 38m above sea level and about 3000m2 in area, which derives from the southern foot of the Sefuri Mountains. There are about 150 dolmens, and the internal facilities for placing the bodies are pits and jar coffins. Small jars, jars, high cups, and bowls from the latter half of the late Jomon period (Yama-no-dera-type pottery) to the early Yayoi period have been buried as grave goods. In particular, the Yuusu-type pottery from the late Jomon period has impressions of rice grains.
