… In Russia, the deeds of Andreas Salos became known along with the official adoption of Christianity, but the first yuroziby is said to have been Isaak Zatvornik, a monk at the Kiev Monastery of the Caves in the second half of the 11th century. The tradition then died out for a while, but the 16th century was the period when yuroziby were most prominent, and the name of Vasilii Blazhennyi (1469-1552) of Moscow is particularly well known. There is also a legend that Vasili appeared before Ivan IV about 20 years after his death and reproached him for his misdeeds. …
