Festival of Ebisu. On the 20th of October in the lunar calendar, merchants gathered at the lodge to hold a drinking party and pray for prosperity in business, but later they began to entertain clients without any ties to the lodge, give thanks to the gods, make oaths, and sell Ebisu-ko. In contrast, the 20th of the lunar New Year is called Hatsu-i or Waka-i, and Ebisu is worshiped as a kitchen god along with Daikoku. At Nishinomiya Shrine and Imamiya Ebisu Shrine, Toka-i and Hatsu-i are on the 10th of the New Year, and in fishing villages in western Japan, Ebisu is also worshiped on the 10th and 11th. → Related items Ebisu (Ebisu/Ebisu/Ebisu) | Bettara Market Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
