Ach, N. (English spelling) AchN

For example, when we hear the word "apple," we immediately understand its meaning, but we do not visualize a red, round shape or feel a sour taste in our mouths. The German psychologist N. Ach called this state of being aware of things all at once, without the mediation of mental images or senses, "consciousness." The terms "imageless thinking" and "non-intuitive thinking" are also used, and this pathological form is known as "substantial consciousness."
