...An evergreen tall tree of the pine family with a beautiful, neat tree shape (illustration). It is found in warm areas of Japan and has long been planted in gardens. Its wood is beautiful and white. It reaches a height of 40m and a diameter of 1.5m, with a straight trunk and thick branches that extend slightly diagonally upwards, forming a broad cone-shaped crown. The bark of the trunk is gray-brown and is dotted with resin sacs containing sticky resin, with fine cracks at the base of the trunk.
