Club of Rome

Japanese: ローマ・クラブ(英語表記)Club of Rome
Club of Rome
This voluntary organization was formed by intellectuals from around the world who shared a common concern about the "finiteness of the Earth," centering around Aurelio Peccei (1908-84), a famous Italian businessman and intellectual. It was named after the first meeting held in Rome in 1968. The club is limited to a maximum of 100 members, but as of June 1997 there were 80 regular members from 37 countries, and 148 members from 50 countries, including honorary and associate members. The membership is diverse, including scientists, economists, planners, educators, and businesspeople, and there are three regular members and two honorary members from Japan.
