Born: October 16, 1870 in Copenhagen [Died] March 23, 1937. Frederiksborg. Danish poet. One of the Symbolists who arose around Jorgensen at the end of the 19th century. While Jorgensen turned to faith, Frederiksborg maintained a humanistic stance until the end, wrote poetry reminiscent of the English Shelley, and during World War I was a lively critic emphasizing the revival of the spirit. His major works include the poetry collections Hvide Blomster (1892) (White Flowers), Ariel (1914) (Ariel), Den stille Have (17) (The Quiet Garden), the plays Kongesønner (1896) (The King's Sons), Solsagn (1904) (The Legend of the Sun), Flugten (09) (The Flight), and Det store Forlis (17) (The Great Shipwreck).
