Born: Kangxi 31 (1692) [Died] 17th year of Qianlong (1752) A Chinese literary figure of the Qing Dynasty. Born in Qiantang, Zhejiang Province. His pen name was Taihong. His pen name was Fan Sha. In 1720, he passed the Jujin exam, and in 1736, he took the Erudite Hongci exam but failed. After that, he studied and wrote literature while relying on wealthy literary lovers in various places. While staying at Shuihua Manor, one of them, Cha Weiren, he co-authored the "Exquisite and Favorable Words" with Cha, and while staying at the Xiaolinglongshan Manor of Ma Wei-kan, who was famous for his book collection, he wrote the "Song Poetry Chronicles," and worked to promote the study of Song poetry. He was criticized for breaking with the Tang style, but while he studied Song poetry himself, he was also familiar with poetry from various eras, such as Tao Yuanming and Xie Lingyun of the Six Dynasties and Wang Wei of the Tang Dynasty, and established his own style of poetry. He is also considered to be one of the leading poets of the Zhejiang school of poetry, along with Zhu Yizun.
