Enargite (enargite)

Japanese: 硫ヒ銅鉱(硫砒銅鉱) - りゅうひどうこう（英語表記）enargite

A mineral with the chemical composition Cu ₃ AsS _4. It has an orthorhombic (pseudo-hexagonal) crystal system. It usually shows columnar euhedral crystals elongated along the c- axis. It has a crystal structure in which Cu and As are arranged in the place of Zn in the wurtzite structure. Luzonite, which has the same composition and zincite structure, is a low-temperature type. It appears stellate as a result of twinning at (320). It also occurs as irregular radials, chunks, and plates parallel to {001}. Cleavage is perfect in {110}, clear in {100} and {010}. It is steel gray to iron black, streaky gray-black, opaque with metallic luster.

化学組成Cu₃AsS₄の鉱物。斜方晶系(偽六方晶系)。普通c軸に延びた柱状自形結晶を示す。ウルツ鉱の構造のZnの位置にCuとAsを秩序配列させた結晶構造を持つ。同じ組成でセン亜鉛鉱型構造のルゾナイトは低温型である。(320)で双晶の結果，星状を呈する。また不規則な放射状，塊状および｛001｝に平行な板状としても産する。へき開｛110｝に完全，｛100｝と｛010｝に明瞭。鋼灰～鉄黒色，条痕灰黒，金属光沢不透明。
