California Condor

…Their morphology and ecology resemble those of vultures found in the Old World, but vultures belong to the family Accipitridae, which is a different family from condors. However, in English, only the California condor and the condor are called "condors," while the other five species and vultures are both called "vultures." In Japan, both condor and vulture are sometimes translated as "vulture," but vulture is not an ornithological term.
