Japanese: 衛所制 - えいしょせい

China's Ming Dynasty military system. The Ming military system was modeled after the Yuan system, with a clear distinction between civilians and the military, military households, their registries attached to the Military Department, and organized into a Wei system. A Wei consisted of 5 Shu-e Thousand Households, with the head of the Thousand Households being Sen-e. A Thousand Households consisted of 10 Shu-e Hyaku-e, with the head being Hyaku-e, with 2 General Banners and 10 Small Banners under him, and a Hyaku-e had 112 men (5 General Banners and 10 Small Banners). Thus, a Wei had a base of 5,600 soldiers, led by a Du Commander (Doshi), who in turn was led by the Five Military Commanders in the center.

中国，明代の兵制。明の兵制は元制にならい，民と軍を峻別して軍戸を設け，その籍を兵部に所属させ，衛所制に編成した。1衛は5守禦千戸所よりなり，千戸所の長が千戸である。1千戸所は10守禦百戸所よりなり，その長は百戸で，その下に総旗2名，小旗10名があり，1百戸は112名(総旗は5小旗，小旗は兵士10名)を率いた。したがって1衛の兵数は5600人を基本とし，都指揮使司(都司)に統率され，都司はさらに中央の五軍都督府に統率された。
