Ryuzoji Masaie

A military commander in Hizen (Saga Prefecture, Nagasaki Prefecture) from the Sengoku to the early Edo period. Nagahoshimaru, Taroshirou. His real name changed to Chinken, Hisaie, and Masaie. He served as the Minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs. He became a chamberlain in 1588. Son of Takanobu. After Takanobu retired in 1589, he succeeded him as head of the family. He followed Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and in 1590, he was granted control of seven districts in Hizen Province. In 1591, he retired, and his son Takafusa succeeded him as head of the family, with Nabeshima Naoshige acting as his guardian. 戦国から江戸時代初期にかけての肥前(佐賀県,長崎県)の武将。長法師丸,太郎四郎。実名は鎮賢,久家,政家と変化。官途は民部大輔。天正16(1588)年侍従となる。隆信の子。天正9年の隆信の隠居後,家督を継ぐ。豊臣秀吉に従い,同15年,肥前国7郡を安堵される。同18年隠居し,子の高房が家督を継承,鍋島直茂が後見を行う。慶長12(1607)年に高房,政家と相次いで没し,以後は鍋島氏が佐賀藩主として君臨することになった。<参考文献>堀本一繁「竜造寺氏の二頭政治と代替り」(『九州史学』109号)
