Okinawa's local cuisine. It is heavily influenced by Chinese cuisine, due to the region's active exchange with China. Many dishes use fats and oils (especially lard), and include cooking methods such as andagii (fried food), irichaa (stewed food), and chanpuru (stir-fried food). Okinawa's pork is black pork, which is often used because it is tasty and inexpensive. Every part of the pig is used well, such as pig ear sashimi, pork innards soup nakaminu ushimun, and pork stew rafuti. Alcoholic beverages include awamori and aged sake (kusu). There is a theory that Ryukyu cuisine is good for the health of Okinawans, as there are many long-lived people in Okinawa.

沖縄の郷土料理。中国との交流が盛んであったため，中国料理の影響が強い。料理の多くは油脂 (特にラード) を用い，アンダギイ (揚げ物) ，イリチャア (炒め煮) ，チャンプル (炒め物) などの調理法がある。また沖縄の豚は黒豚で，味もよく，安価であるのでよく使われる。豚の耳でつくるミミガー刺身，内臓の吸い物のナカミヌウシームン，豚の角煮のラフティなど，豚のあらゆる部分を上手に活用している。酒には泡盛と古酒 (クース) がある。沖縄には長寿の人が多いことから，琉球料理が健康によいとする説もある。
