〘Noun〙① In music, meaning tune or musical rule. Also, tone, rhythm, beat. Richi. ※Kana Zoushi, Ukiyo Monogatari (around 1665) 4 "But the Phoenix, the Kirin, the Turtle, and the Dragon are called the Four Spirits, according to the rhythm of their cries and the number of forms they possess." [Book of Documents - Shunten]② In gagaku in particular, the name of the Yang tone when the twelve tunes with absolute pitches are divided into Yin and Yang. In Japan, it refers to the six tones of Ichikotsu, Hyojo , Shimomu , Fusho , Rankei , and Shinsen . Six tunes. The Yin tone is called Ryo . Richi. [Hanshu - Ritsu Rekishi vol. 1 ] ③ Ritsu melody. Especially the criminal code of East Asian countries, mainly China, in ancient times. It stipulates punishments to enforce the laws. In Japan, the first one was the Asuka Kiyomihara Ritsu, compiled during the reign of Emperor Tenmu, and was completed by the Taiho Ritsu in 701 and the Yoro Ritsu in 718 . It was strongly influenced by China, especially the Tang Dynasty Code, and many of its codes are said to be imitations. ※Ritsu (718) Example: "For those who are exiled or have been punished with a lower rank , and those who have committed acts of cruelty , do not use these codes." ※Tsurezuregusa (around 1331) 183: "You should not feed a dog that is a human being. (c) Abbreviation of " Ritsugi (Ritsugyo)."
