A character from the old Joruri play "Yakuchi no Hangan." He is a judge from Yasuguchi, Chikuzen (Fukuoka Prefecture), who is killed in an attempt by the chief retainer Hyobu to embezzle from his master's house. However, his wife and child escape the peril thanks to a tip from Hyobu's son Saburo, and with the protection of Kasuga Shrine, they are able to avenge their master's death and restore their family.
