The world's first daily newspaper. It was founded in Leipzig, Germany in 1650. Its original title was Neu‐einlauffende Nachricht von Kriegs‐ und Welt‐Händeln (Latest News on Wars and World Affairs), and its circulation is estimated to have been around 200 copies around 1668. It soon became a weekly newspaper, and after several title changes, it became the Leipziger Zeitung in 1810, and continued to exist until 1918.
