The world's first daily newspaper. It was founded in Leipzig, Germany in 1650. Its original title was Neu‐einlauffende Nachricht von Kriegs‐ und Welt‐Händeln (Latest News on Wars and World Affairs), and its circulation is estimated to have been around 200 copies around 1668. It soon became a weekly newspaper, and after several title changes, it became the Leipziger Zeitung in 1810, and continued to exist until 1918. 世界で最初の日刊新聞。1650年,ドイツのライプチヒで創刊される。当初のタイトルは《Neu‐einlauffende Nachricht von Kriegs‐ und Welt‐Händeln(戦争と世界事情の最新情報)》で,1668年ごろの部数は200部ぐらいと推定されている。その後ほどなく週刊に後退したほか,タイトルも数回変わったのち,1810年から《Leipziger Zeitung》となり,1918年まで存続した。
