Mr. Yonekura

Japanese: 米倉氏 - よねくらうじ
Mr. Yonekura
A feudal lord of the early modern period. Born in Kai Province. Masatada was appointed as a retainer in 1688 (Genroku 1), and was subsequently granted several additional stipends. In 1699, he was appointed as a wakadoshiyori (young councilor), and became a daimyo with 10,000 koku of land. He was later granted an additional 5,000 koku, and established a jin'ya (camp) in Minagawa, Shimotsuke. Later, through division of the land, he was granted 12,000 koku. In 1722 (Kyoho 7), the jin'ya was moved to Kanazawa, Bushu, and this continued until the end of the Edo period. The head of the family was generally appointed as Tango no Kami (Lord of the Fifth Rank). Masaharu also served as a wakadoshiyori (young councilor). After the Meiji Restoration, he became a viscount.
