Tamotsu Yoda

Japanese: 与田保 - よだのほ

A provincial government territory in Kuga County, Suo Province (present-day Yanai City, Yamaguchi Prefecture). Its establishment as a province dates back to 1154 (Kyushu 1). In 1186 (Bun'ei 2), Suo Province was designated as a province for the construction of Todaiji Temple, and the public taxes of the province, which was under the control of the provincial government, were also used for the construction and repair of Todaiji Temple. The scale of the province was 55 cho 7 tan of rice fields and 9 cho 1 tan of farmland, and it was managed by the hoji since the end of the Heian period, with the public monks having 26 cho of official documents and 5 cho of official documents. However, in 1204 (Genkyu 1), Fujiwara Tomotsune, a resident of the neighboring Yanai Manor under Rengeoin Temple, was appointed as the local land steward by the provincial government office and further received confirmation from the Kamakura shogunate. Thereafter, with the shogunate's influence as a backdrop, he expanded his control over the area, repeatedly coming into conflict with Kumon, who had the support of the provincial government office.

周防国玖珂郡(現，山口県柳井市)の国衙領。保としての成立は1154年(久寿1)までさかのぼる。86年(文治2)周防国が東大寺造営料国として施入され，国衙の支配をうける当保の公課も，東大寺造営修理料に充てられた。当保の規模は田地55町7段余，畠地9町1段であり，経営は，平安末期以来保司のもとで，そのうち公文（くもん）名26町余，公文給5町を有する公文があたっていた。ところが1204年(元久1)隣接の蓮華王院領楊井（やない）荘住人藤原朝俊が国衙より当保地頭に任ぜられ，さらに鎌倉幕府の安堵を得て，以後幕府勢力を背景に在地支配を進め，国衙の支持をうける公文と対立をくり返した。
