This is the name of a place in Gamo County, Omi Province, which is now Ryuo-cho, Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture. In the Middle Ages, a group of merchants was active here, and from 1463, Yokozeki merchants argued with Tokuchin Ho merchants (Honai merchants) over the main seat of kimono fabrics, losing the case, but at the time they called themselves Yoriudo of the Konponchudo Hall of Enryaku-ji Temple. This conflict flared up again in 1501, when Yokozeki merchants seized Honai's goods in Shimago City, but Honai's rights were recognized again. In the same year, they also fought with Honai in Hino City, and had a dispute with merchants from the Sakon'efu Kayocho over the kimono business in Yokozeki Shimogo. In 1521-1528, merchants from Ishidoji Kamigo were forced to stop operating in Yokoseki City due to a complaint from merchants from Honai. → Related article Mimura-so Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
