Yang Shi - Yoji

A scholar from the Northern Song Dynasty in China. His pen name was Zhongli and his title was Guishan. He was from Jianle, Southern Jianzhou (Fujian Province). He was a direct scholar of Longtu Ge. He first studied under Cheng Hao (Ming Dao), and after Cheng Hao's death, he studied under his younger brother Cheng Yi (Yichuan). He was one of the four masters of the Cheng school. It is a famous story that after studying under Cheng Hao, Cheng Hao said, "I'm going south," as he saw Yang Shi off as he returned home. As he said, Yang Shi spread Cheng's theories throughout central and southern China, and they were passed on to Zhu Xi (Zhu Xi) and Zhang Shuo (Nanxuan) of the Southern Song Dynasty. In addition to editing "Nitcho Suigen," he also wrote "Kameyama Sayings" and "Kameyama Collected Works."

中国、北宋(ほくそう)の学者。字(あざな)は中立、号は亀山(きざん)。南剣州将楽（福建省）の人。官は竜図閣直学士(りゅうとかくちょくがくし)に至る。最初程顥(ていこう)（明道(めいどう)）に師事し、程顥の死後、弟の程頤(ていい)（伊川(いせん)）に師事した。程門の四先生の一人。程顥に従学した後、帰郷する楊時を見送った程顥が、「吾(わ)が道南(みなみ)す」といったのは有名な話で、その語のとおり、楊時によって二程の学説が華中・華南の地に広められ、南宋の朱熹(しゅき)（朱子）や張栻(ちょうしょく)（南軒(なんけん)）に継承されていった。『二程粋言』を編集したほか、著に『亀山(きざん)語録』『亀山文集』がある。
