Yoichi [town] - Yoichi
A town in Yoichi County, Hokkaido. Located west of Otaru City, the Hakodate Main Line runs through it. Until the Taisho era, it prospered through herring fishing, and currently promotes shallow-water propagation projects. It has long been known for cultivating Yoichi apples, and also produces grapes, pears, and vegetables, and is home to whiskey and wine factories. The town is made up of two towns, the station area and the fishing port. Area 140.59 km2 . Population 21,258 (2010).

北海道余市郡の町。小樽市の西隣，函館本線が通じる。大正年間までニシン漁で栄え，現在は浅海増殖事業を推進している。古くから余市リンゴの栽培で知られ，ブドウ，ナシ，野菜類も産し，ウィスキーやワインの工場もある。市街地は駅付近と漁港の双子町をなす。140.59km2。２万1258人（2010）。
