Yumoto [Hot Spring] - Yunomoto
This hot spring is located in the inner part of Yumoto Bay on the northwest coast of Iki Island in Nagasaki Prefecture. It belongs to Katsumoto Town, Iki District. It is believed that the activity of small acidic intrusive rocks such as rhyolite and quartz porphyry along the tectonic line that crosses the island from Yumoto to the southeast is closely related to the source of the hot spring. The spring is a pure saline spring containing bromine, with a temperature of 69°C. It is the only hot spring in Iki and has been designated a national hot spring. [Takeuchi Kiyofumi]

Yumoto [Hot Springs]

This hot spring is located in Rankoshi Town, Isogai County, Shiribeshi Subprefecture, southwest Hokkaido. It is a pure saline spring, 76°C. It is located on a plateau at an altitude of 560m, on the southwest foot of Niseko Annupuri (1309m), and is part of the Niseko Onsenkyo area. The hot spring was once called Baba Onsen, but a hut was built there in 1885, and it was renamed Yumoto Onsen in 1937. The source of the hot spring is a geyser that wells up from the bottom of the nearby Oyunuma. It is the base for climbing Chisenupuri, and is crowded with climbers in the summer and skiers in the winter. A bus runs from Niseko Station on the Hakodate Main Line.

Yumoto [Hot Springs]

This hot spring is located upstream of the Waga River, a tributary of the Kitakami River, in Yuda Town, Waga County, in the southwest of Iwate Prefecture. It is said to have been discovered in 1658 (Manji 1). The hot spring has an abundant supply of water, and the water is a bitter salt-based spring with a temperature of 85°C. In 1965, Yuda Dam was completed downstream of the Waga River, and tourism development has been carried out to link the three hot spring resorts of Yumoto, Yukawa, and Sugo with Lake Kinshu at Yuda Dam, making it a prefectural natural park known as Yuda Onsenkyo. The JR Kitakami Line connects Kitakami City and Yokote City, and there is a bus to Yumoto Onsen from Rikuchu-Kawajiri Station. [Kawamoto Tadahira]

Yumoto [Hot Springs]

A hot spring in Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is also called Nagato Yumoto Onsen. It is a hot spring town in a quiet valley along the Otozure River, upstream of the Fukagawa River, and is a 5-minute walk from Nagato Yumoto Station on the JR Mine Line. There is an ancient temple, Dainei-ji, nearby, and it is said that the spring gushed forth from an oracle of Sumiyoshi Myojin during the time of the third head priest, Joan, and the source of the spring was managed by Dainei-ji. There are eight springs, and they spring from a fault zone of rhyolite. Simple spring, 27-46°C. The riverside in the area is a breeding ground for Genji fireflies on the Otozure River (heaven). Dainei-ji is the grave of lord and servant Ouchi Yoshitaka, who committed suicide at the temple after being rebelled against by Sue Harukata, and about 1km upstream in Sonose, there is the Hagi-yaki Fukagawa Kiln.
