Greek name for a dagger used in Achaemenid Iran and Scythia. 40-60cm long. Double-edged, with a flat diamond-shaped cross section, a flattened handle, and a T-shaped, antennae-shaped, or circular pommel. There are two types, made of bronze and iron, and they have been excavated in relatively large numbers in northern Eurasia, from southern Russia to Siberia and northern China. Achaemenid swords are depicted in reliefs at Persepolis, and this is the sword referred to as the Xinglu sword in the Chinese historical document, the Book of Han. A distinctive feature is the two heart-shaped tsuba (guard).

アケメネス朝のイランやスキタイで用いられた短剣のギリシア名。長さ 40～60cm。両刃で断面は平たい菱形，柄の部分は扁平，柄頭はT字状，触角状，環状をなしている。青銅製と鉄製の2種があり，南ロシアからシベリア，中国北部にいたる北方ユーラシア地帯から比較的多数出土している。アケメネス朝のそれはペルセポリスの浮彫に描かれており，中国史料『漢書』に径路刀とあるのもこれである。鐔 (つば) の部分が2個のハート状になっているのが特徴。
