Also known as the Taurus Mountains. It forms the southern edge of the Anatolian Plateau in southwestern Turkey, running parallel to the Mediterranean coast. The area east of the Seyhan River is called the Southeast Taurus Mountains. Its total length is about 900 km. Its highest peak is Mount Erciyaz (3,916 m).
