A former town in Saeki District, western Hiroshima Prefecture. Most of the area is mountainous, producing a lot of timber, and is known for its konjac and wasabi. Dairy farming is also practiced. The town is centered around the national health resort hot spring, Yuki Onsen (radioactive spring, 28°C), and is accessible by bus from Hiroshima City. 広島県西部，佐伯郡の旧町。大半が山地で木材を多産し，コンニャク，ワサビを特産，酪農も行われる。国民保養温泉の湯来温泉（放射能泉，28℃）を中心に市街地があり，広島市からバスが通じる。2005年４月広島市佐伯区へ編入。162.87km2。7945人（2003）。
