A town in Ashigarashimo County, southwest of Kanagawa Prefecture. Occupying the southeastern slope of the Hakone volcano, it developed as a hot spring town with Yugawara Onsen (weakly saline spring, 41-88°C) since ancient times, and is famous as a leisure and health resort on the Keihin Expressway. The Tokaido Main Line runs through the town, and from Okuyugawara there are links to Hakone, the Taikanzan Tsubaki Line, and the Yugawara Parkway. Citrus cultivation is thriving. 40.97 km2 .
