It is also written as Yatara-byōshi or Hattara-byōshi. It is one of the rhythms of Tang music (Tōgaku), a form of Japanese gagaku music. It has a meter in which 2 and 3 beats alternate and are repeated, i.e., 5 beats. The current rhythms are "Somakushiya no ha" (left-hand side), "Baironha", "Genjōraku", and "Batou" (all right-hand side) in bugaku-dachi. When "Kanjōraku" and "Batou" are used in bugaku music on the left side or performed in kangen-dachi, and when "Somakushiya no ha" and "Baironha" are performed in kangen-dachi, they are all converted to Hayatashi rhythm.
