Molar concentration - Molarity

One way of expressing the concentration of a solution. It is usually expressed as the number of moles of solute contained in a certain amount of solution. When a certain amount of solution is taken up to 1000 milliliters, it is called the volumetric molarity. Also, when it is expressed as the number of moles of solute dissolved in 1000 grams of solvent, it is called mass molarity or weight molarity. Volumetric molarity is usually used, and this is often what is meant when simply saying molar concentration. The symbol used is M.

溶液の濃度の表し方の一つ。普通一定量の溶液中に含まれる溶質のモル数で示す。溶液の一定量を1000ミリリットルにとったときを容量モル濃度という。また溶媒1000グラム中に溶かした溶質のモル数で示したものを質量モル濃度あるいは重量モル濃度という。普通は容量モル濃度を用い、単にモル濃度というときはこれをさす場合が多い。記号としてMを使う。
