Kinokawa is an old town in the Naka district in northern Wakayama Prefecture. Its central market, located near the confluence of the Kinokawa River and its tributary, the Kishigawa River, is an old market town along the Koya Highway, and was once part of Mount Koya's territory. It is known as a peach-producing region, and is also a thriving producer of plant trees. It is home to Mifune Shrine. In November 2005, it was incorporated as a city by merging with the towns of Uchida, Konagawa, Naka, and Kishigawa in the Naka district, to form Kinokawa City. Area: 51.75 km2 .
