Japanese: 伽羅先代萩 - めいぼくせんだいはぎ

A Kabuki script and a title of Joruri. A historical piece. Commonly known as "Sendai-Hagi." It deals with a family feud that occurred in the Manji and Kanbun eras ( 1658-1673 ) in the Date clan of Sendai. Currently, a combination of (1) and (2) is performed. [1] Kabuki script. Five acts. Written by Nagakawa Kamesuke . First performed in Osaka in 1777. It depicts the affairs of Taro Tsunehisa, a vassal of the Oshu naval district, and the courtesan Takao, a conspiracy by evil ministers to poison the young lord Tsurukiyo, and the loyalty of the wet nurse Masaoka, who saves the young lord by having her son Senmatsu taste the poison. [2] Joruri. Nine acts. A collaboration between Matsukanshi, Takahashi Takebei, Yoshida Kakumaru, and others. First performed at the Edo Yukiza in 1785 . It was created based on the Kabuki play of the same name and " Datekurabeokuni Kabuki."

歌舞伎脚本および浄瑠璃の外題。時代物。通称「先代萩」。万治・寛文年間（一六五八‐七三）に仙台の伊達(だて)家で起こったお家騒動を扱ったもの。現在は(一)と(二)を折衷して上演される。[一] 歌舞伎脚本。五幕。奈河亀輔(ながわかめすけ)作。安永六年（一七七七）、大坂中の芝居初演。奥州鎮守府の冠者太郎経睦と傾城高尾とのこと、悪臣らの若君鶴喜代毒殺の陰謀、わが子千松に毒味をさせて若君を救う乳人(めのと)政岡の忠義などを描く。[二] 浄瑠璃。九段。松貫四・高橋武兵衛・吉田角丸らの合作。天明五年（一七八五）、江戸結城座初演。同名の歌舞伎脚本および「伊達競阿国戯場(だてくらべおくにかぶき)」を参考に作られた。
