A general from around 693 to 716 during the Umayyad Dynasty, and conqueror of northwestern India (Sind). In 710, under the orders of Hajjaj bin Yusuf, governor of Iraq, he led an expedition from the Makran region to the mouth of the Indus River and captured Daibur. Using this city as a base, he advanced north up the Indus River and captured the holy city of Multan in the Punjab region in 713, but was relieved of his duties after the death of Hajjaj bin Yusuf and was escorted to Iraq where he died in prison. ウマイヤ朝時代の将軍で，北西インド(シンド)の征服者。710年，イラク総督ハッジャージュ･ブン･ユースフの命により，マクラーン地方からインダス河口地域に遠征し，ダイブールを攻略した。同市を基地としてインダス川を北上し，713年，パンジャーブ地方の聖地ムルターンを攻略したが，ハッジャージュ･ブン･ユースフの死によってその任を解かれ，イラクに護送されて獄死した。【花田宇秋】
