〘Noun〙① In the Middle Ages and early modern period, a person who was a vassal but was not given a fief or land. Also, a poor person with no estates or property. Musokushu. Musoku. [Nippo Jisho (1603-04)] ※Hagakure ( around 1716) 1 "To remove this and become a mushujin is disloyal." ② In the Edo period, a low-ranking samurai who had no fief and received a rice stipend.
