A former town in Mugi County, central Gifu Prefecture. Located in Mugi Valley along the Mugi River, west of Mino City, the town is known for its paper manufacturing industry, as well as knife processing, machinery and woodworking. In February 2005, it was incorporated into Seki City along with Mugi Town, Horado Village, Itadori Village, and Kaminoho Village in Mugi County. Area: 28.31 km2 . Population: 6,695 (2003). 岐阜県中部，武儀(むぎ)郡の旧町。美濃市の西，武儀川に沿う武芸谷にあり，製紙業が盛んで，刃物加工，機械・木工業もみられる。2005年２月武儀郡武儀町，洞戸村，板取村，上之保村と関市へ編入。28.31km2。6695人（2003）。
