みょう‐ちょう ミャウチャウ【名帳】

〘名〙① ⇒めいちょう(名帳)② 名を列記した帳簿。めいちょう。※源平盛衰記(14C前)九「神明の数を注たりけるには、〈略〉其名帳(ミャウチャウ)の中に」③ その宗旨の信徒の名を記した名簿。また、金銭・物品を喜捨した人の名を記した名簿。※義経記(室町中か)七「思ひ思ひに勧進に入、惣じてみゃうちゃうにつく百五十人」④ 寺院で、檀家、信徒の死者の法名・俗名・死亡の年月日を記した帳簿。過去帳。冥帳。※義経記(室町中か)八「討死したる者ども〈略〉死後なればみゃうちゃうに入れて弔へと仰せくださるる」⑤ 融通念仏宗で、大念仏の仲間にはいった者の名前を書いた帳面。また、時宗も一遍の時、布教のためこれを用いたが、真宗ではこの風が行なわれたのを邪義とした。※古今著聞集(1254)二「早旦に壮年の僧の青衣きたる出来て、念仏帳に入るべき由を自称して、名帳をみて忽にかくれぬ」
