Japanese: 南串山[町] - みなみくしやま

An old town in the southwest of the Shimabara Peninsula, Minamitakaki District, Nagasaki Prefecture. The town has arable land on the slopes overlooking Chijiwa Bay (Tachibana Bay), where potatoes, onions, etc. are cultivated, and lily bulbs are a local specialty. There is also coastal fishing. National Route 251 runs through the town. In October 2005, the town merged with the towns of Kunimi, Mizuho, Agatsuma, Aino, Chijiwa, and Obama in Nishitakaki District to become Unzen City. Area: 14.84 ^km2 . Population: 4,912 (2003).

長崎県南高来(みなみたかき)郡，島原半島南西部の旧町。千々石(ちぢわ)湾（橘湾）に臨む傾斜地に耕地があり，ジャガイモ，タマネギなどを栽培，特産にユリ根がある。沿岸漁業も営む。国道251号線が通じる。2005年10月，西高来郡国見町，瑞穂町，吾妻町，愛野町，千々石町，小浜町と合併し市制，雲仙市となる。14.84km²。4912人（2003）。
