A hundred-verse linked verse poem. It was written on January 22, 1488 (Chokyo 2). It is a trilogy of poems by Sogi, Shohaku, and Socho. The 22nd was the monthly memorial day for Emperor Gotoba, and it was dedicated to his mausoleum in Minase. There are various theories about the location of the poem, but the opening verse, "Even though it's snowing, the mountains are hazy in the evening" (Sogi), describes the view before his eyes from the mausoleum in Minase, so it is thought to have been around Yamazaki (Oyamazaki-cho, Kyoto Prefecture). Along with "Yunoyama Sangin," it is considered to be one of the most exemplary works, and Shokyu and Soyo's "Renga Tensui-sho" (Linked verse: Tensui-sho) explain the ingenious arrangement of the first eight verses.
